Original 1957 Ford and Mercury distributor assembly, 312 engine

Y Block Distributor without Tachometer Drive

This was a complete distributor with all parts. All it took was to clean it up and lubricate the parts. With a set of new points & condenser and a new rotor and cap, it is ready to go. I bought this for use on a 1957 Thunderbird knowing that the only difference between Ford & Mercury distributor and the Thunderbird distributor is a tachometer drive gear on the main shaft. The Thunderbird distributor with the tachometer drive is next to impossible to find. The Ford/Mercury distributor for the Y block will work fine in the Thunderbird as long as you know you can not connect the mechanical tachometer drive. It is OK in an emergency so I plan to keep this on the shelf for back up. It cleaned up nicely and is as good as new.
