Exactly what I needed. I recently moved into a new house and the ceiling fan wouldn't turn on. I checked all the wiring and the switches. Everything was correct. It turns out that this unit had a remote control for it, so I assume that the previous residence probably took the remote with them. Luckily, this remote worked perfectly for my ceiling fan. Would definitely recommend this
