Ultra Dependable Class D Firepower
1 of 1 found this helpful The Audiobahn 1800D is one of those few products that does what it was intended to do almost too well. This amp is rated truly, it will in fact put out 1800 watts at 1 ohm, it is very stable at 1 ohm and wont go into protect mode when you are doing a spl burp like some of the other digital amps on the market. Its a solid very well made piece of hardware. The board is of superior manufacture as are the capacitors and the crossovers. Its a rather wide amplifier with dual fans, oversized heatsink and the standard barrage of audiobahn lighting effects and meters. Its obviously a sleek very attractive amp and this may discourage some consumers that think that the only good amps are barren of the all the glamor of chrome covered heatsinks and lighting effects. In many cases that might be correct but in the case of the audiobahn 1800D they are mistaken. This amplifier is a workhorse, its utterly dependable, attractive and very well designed. I myself own two of these fine examples of audiophile technology and for over two years they have ran at 1 ohm with zero problems. The only con I can think of would be the noise of the dual fans humming but that can be said about any amp with a fan, besides this is a SPL amp not a SQ amp. It is a bit pricey but the finer things in life often are. Audiobahn hit this one on the head. 5/5

1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this amp to power 3 pairs of tweeters and upon receiving it I discovered that it has three 25 amp fuses. That makes me think this amp does way more that the advertised wattage. I tested the amp and it came close to blowing a pair of off brand 6X9 test speakers. This amp would be suited to powering all the mid/high range speakers you could conceive of in a car. As of now I have this amp running 2 pair of 6X9's and three pair of tweeters. No problem
