While it does have the IR Sensor in it, the reason I bought it, and you are able to use the remote feature for older model TVs, Google Play store no longer offers support for this product so you cannot update any of the apps, download updates for current apps, or update the remote list. Great tablet for its time, it is fast but its time has long past.
