1 of 2 found this helpful No instructions come with this item. Numerous requests yielded a late response, but still no clear instructions how to 'fix' the width of the extendable rack. The reason this is dangerous is that a very hot cooking tray in which you may be roasting a chicken, can fall past the side grooves in your oven, spilling hot fat and everything else, everywhere AND ALSO ONTO YOUR FEET. The width of the rack needs to sit FULLY in the side groves and take the load. It is all too easy for the extendable rack to change it's width and not fit fully into the oven side grooves. There needs to be some kind of screw fitting so that once you have ensured that the rack is extended to exactly the right width, it can be screwed so that it stays that way. My advice is to be really careful how you use this and ALWAYS check that the rack is still at the same width with which you started, EVERY TIME YOU TAKE IT IN AND OUT, ESPECIALLY AFTER CLEANING.
