Heathkit AA-14 Vintage Amplifier
1 of 1 found this helpful These little amplifiers are a great alternative to the junk made in China these days. We use these amps with an XM tuner for calming, relaxing background music in our assisted living group homes for elderly. The amps have plenty of power for this low level sound and operate quite cool. Additionally, because of my background, I am able to maintain them since they use readily available standard discrete parts. The receivers we've purchased from Best Buy only last a few years and then develop issues. We run these systems about 12 hours every day.

hard to find, but worth it
these plugs are no longer made. they are of good design by old school designers. they have screw terminals for the wire and are made of something between hard rubber and soft rubber, so they will stand up over time. too bad we don't make this kind of quality any more.

2N2712 Transistor
Quite happy to find these vintage transistors. They were used extensively in the Heathkit models AA-14 and AR-14 audio stages. I'm sure that they were used in other equipment as well. These are exact replacements.
