    "Handy" part
Good quality and great price. I needed one to replace a missing part on a cinema tripod. Works great--adjusted right into place.

End of Faulkner's Snopes Trilogy + THE REIVERS!
This review concentrates on the physical and editorial qualities of the books with a lesser review of the novels contained. If you are unfamilliar with Faulkner, I suggest going to your local library and reading some longer Faulkner stories such as "The Bear" or "Spotted Horses", or even "Barn Burning". This volume contains the last two novels ("The Town" and "The Mansion")of the 'Snopes Trilogy' begun in 1929 with "The Sound and the Fury". Each novel is an impressive literary achievment and stands on it's own. A reading of all three is a dizzying experience if you like Faulkner. This is the finest Southern Gothic material, so expect brooding, dark, Deep-South atmosphere punctuated by wildly ironic and often sardonic humor. The last novel Faulkner wrote and the last one in this LOA volume ("The Reivers")is a Faulkner verison of a coming-of-age book like "Tom Sawyer". I recently converted all of my William Faulkner books from paperback to The hardback, and I'm delighted I chose the Library of America (LOA) books for the following reasons: acid-free paper so the pages will not curl or yellow with age, sewn binding so the pages won't fall out, authoritative editing--Blottner wrote THE Faulkner biography and knew Mr. Falukner personally, a great typeface that enhances readability, uniform volume size and style, and access to a complete set (5 volumes) of Faulkner's novels in chronological order. Also, attempting to purchase all of Faulkner's novels separately can be frustrating, time-consuming and costly. Value is also a consideration. Four of the LOA Faulkner volumes contain four novels each, while this volume contains three of his novels. Even at the full retail price of $45, these hardbound volumes compare very favorably with paperback copies--currently running $10 or more per book with cheaper paper and a glue binding that sustains less abuse. For about the same money as for paperback books, the LOA buyer purchases a superior product. They are not quickly-produced 'all-in-one' volumes. I like the rayon covering of the binding boards and spine. I am less certain of the binding boards, which LOA claims are flexible but strong. Time will tell. All in all, I feel like I purchased a great book at a tremendous value. If you are a Faulkner fan--look no further!

Most complete and balanced biography of Mary Shelley
Very well and engagingly written. I must normally be at gunpoint to delve into biography, but this is an excellent one. Painfully complete and balanced to the gram, this is the one to get provided you are willing to wade through a book of this size. It is, however, worth it.
