Raybestos item received
Well I'd review the item if they would have sent me the right item. Pep Boys sent me a Raybestos cable instead of the Dorman I ordered. Not happy! But the cable works for the front of my 88 SR5 3.0 4Runner. The sheathing was about 2" shorter on this cable than my stock original cable and the rubber boot on this cable is smaller. It also doesn't come with the small clips that were pictured in the Dorman item. It does the job.
Raybestos and Dorman use the same item number.

Ok remote...
I have the Kenwood DMX-7704s and I expected this remote to have more functionality than it does. It is very limited. All I can do with this remote is control the volume, change the source, play and pause tracks, attenuate, next and previous tracks, navigate up and down through folders as they are playing(not in the file browser ...on the stereo.) That is it when it comes to playing files from an external harddrive. Nine buttons have functions that work. I would pretty much expect that to be it for other sources also. The switch on the right of the remote seems pretty worthless when it comes to my head unit.
I'll keep the remote... it was cheap ands it controls the volume which is one of the main reasons I need it. I'd be much happier if it at least was able to navigate through my hard drive.
Not even the menu button or navigation buttons work which is pretty surprising. No wonder Kenwood discontinued this item it's practically functionless. It does control the volume though... :-)
