Timney #201 FM-98-FN Mauser 98 1.5-4lbs Featherweight Adjustable Trigger

Simply the best Mauser trigger for the price.

Have used several Timney triggers and have yet to be disappointed. The install is simple and straight forward. Breaks CLEAN at 3 lbs with no adjustment needed. As long as you are aware that you may have to remove some material from your stock for the trigger to fit and are comfortable with doing that(it's a simple job that can be done in just a few minutes). Hard to beat this trigger.

Just to clear up a few things from previous reviews.

1. The screw provided are 6-48 screws(which is what 99.9% of rifles are drilled/tapped for), and the Torx head is an improvement that you see on virtually ALL of the better bases/rings out there. 2. This is a STD pattern Redfield style base, ALL 1 piece bases in this style have 3 screws, if you want to use 4 you need to get a 2 piece base. 3. This fits MOST military 98 actions as it accommodates all but the extra high stripper clip boss's on the rear bridge. You will of course need to have your rifle drilled/tapped by a qualified gunsmith(who WILL drill and tap for 6-48 screws unless you tell them otherwise) if is not already properly done as NO military 98 that I am aware of came drilled tapped for modern mounts. As far as STD 1 piece bases go. I prefer the Weaver GS over Leupold or Burris. Functionally there is no diference, however I like the curves of the Weaver better. They are very well machined, rock solid bases. Top quality, just like their GS rings.
