GT-1 is just what I needed.
Killer pedal! Very satisfied. I've purchased multiple multi-effects units over the years in this price range, including several late models with recent modeling technologies. Not a complete survey by me of available choices but in my experience none sound as good or operate as easily as this unit - not even close. I researched the $200-400 current model price range, based on new unit street price, not having decided yet of I would buy new or used. Really wanted to stay under $200 so after deciding on GT-1, looked at used.
Reason for deciding on GT-1 was good past experience with Boss on build & recent good experience with Boss modeling on the smallest of the Katana combos. The modeling on that amp is much improved over previous generations. Good tube-like natural sounding compression & guitar player interaction with amp. By interaction I mean how guitar playing normally affects sound of a reasonably good tube amp, ie, pick attack/guitar volume & tone roll-off, type of pu, amp & pedal gain staging, etc. GT-1 has good tube sounds also.
So far I've gone through all presets, tweaking 3 or 4. Presets sound and easy to modify. Ex: if a chorus/swirly or delay effect is too strong then backing it down in the mix is easy. Same ease in tweaking amp models, distortion & compression. Easy Edit mode also good for quick adjustments. Amp models sound good - best judge of this are the low distortion models like Fender and those in blues/ country genres. High distortion preset patches do a pretty good job if controlling noise.
Tested on several combo amps set on clean channel, bass & mid at 5/ treble set at 7: Boogie F30 tube amp, Yamaha GA112, Line 6 Spider IV 30.
Anyway, great purchase for me. Excellent product. The seller was quick and even thought enough about the item to include batteries. Boss doesn't sell this item with batteries so I knew not to expect.
