1 of 1 found this helpful I noticed that the main tuning control would sometimes randomly change frequency. I replaced memory battery and then it worked just fine.
Also, when on the 20 meter band, my received and transmitted signal frequency warbled.
I was able able to purchase parts from Icom to correct this situation. I haven't yet made the repairs as it requires taking a board out and doing a lot of un-soldering metal shields to get to the defective part.
Other than that, its a fine transceiver

R390 ebay review
The book is old but very readable except for 4 or 5 pages of vital schematic diagrams. These schematic diagrams I need very badly and is the main reason I purchased this R390 manual. So often, I've purchased reprints of this manual only to find that some of the diagram is out of focus, or smudged parts of a diagram.
The condition of this manual isn't the water stains and musty smell, its that the 4/5 diagrams are missing.
