Dedalus the ricordanze The Complete Recordings 1973/2015 Box Set 4cd ITA PROG

Great music, HORRIBLE packaging.

I was very excited to receive this box set being that Dedalus is a sightly obscure jazz fusion outfit from Italy. It took almost a month to arrive with customs and COVID but did finally get here. The music is beyond par but whoever designed the packaging needs to be reprimanded. The CDs are in a cardboard sleeve with NOTHING whatsoever to protect the bottom side, simply taking them out to rip to my computer put scratches on the CDs. Luckily I keep plastic CD sleeves for just such an occasion but the designer of this box set really should have considered this when designing the set.

Definitive Technology ProMonitor 800 Black (Ea) Compact Speaker

Detailed without being harsh or shrill

Had a 5-channel receiver and bought these speakers (along with a center channel) for 5-channel stereo. Ended up switching back to my 2-channel Marantz integrated amp on account of the fact that it was better for music (and warmer sounding). These little speakers are being run as a second pair of stereo speakers on my current system, they bring out details in the music without taking away from any of the warmth. Well done, DefTech!

More than enough power

Great value! I am pre-amping my Marantz receiver (SR7000) out to the HCA-800II. It runs a little warm but has enough power to drive both pairs of my Deftech speakers (BP10s and Promonitor 800s). So glad to have made the investment for this little gem.
