Characters you care about
Julia Glass is super at creating characters you care about. While Greenie, Saga and New Mexico governor Ray McCrae don't measure up to Fenno McLeod and Mal, the richness of the cooking background and the landscapes of New Mexico and Maine carry your interest along. There is also the shaky marriage of Greenie and her husband and the ways George, their young son, deals with it. As well, Greenie and her husband Alan's family members clash with each other, along with the gay characters in the NYC locale. They all enrich the conflicts in the book.
Because I loved Three Junes I ran out and bought The Whole World Over. I hope the next book focusses more on Fenno and the gay milieu, which is more interesting and picturesque than just another shaky marriage.

Clover case for soft touch crochet hooks
This is the smallest, tuck-away-able case for all the hooks you'll ever need. I must have six by now, which seems extravagant, but I like a complete set for whatever project I start.
And when I change yarns, no matter how many plies I'm using, the correct hook is there. And won't fall out of my bag.
