Smaller IS better!
I have owned several of the Sennheiser MKH- series condenser microphones for several years. One complaint in live recordings is that they do stick out, in spite of their black finish. I saw a good deal for a pair of MKH8040 and decided to buy them. Not only are they now modular (which means potentially fewer components to buy), but they are really small! Once I got them, I put them up as spot mics at a live concert recording and was impressed by their clarity and high-frequency extension. I look forward to trying them out as an ORTF pair, as solo piano spot mics, and in many other situations as well. Now, if only Sennheiser would make a figure-of-8 capsule - than I would have the ultimate M/S pair - small and truly high-definition...

The lit-up switch makes all the difference
This heavy-base mic stand has a switch which is easy to operate, and has a red LED on when your mic connection is "live". This is important when running recording sessions in a dark area! Other bases have less dependable switches, and have gone to the e-waste collection...

filling out the mic collection...
My first pair of Schoeps were with the CMC6-XT preamps. I found them slightly noisy; in addition the HF response wasn't flat but had a rise (in order to maintain HF response beyond 20kHz). I sold those off, and eventually the MK2H capsules as well. In the mean time I found I used the MK41 capsules more often, particularly for percussion spot mics. I got two used MK41 capsules, had them refurbished by Redding Audio; as a result I now had 4 of those (along with 2 of the MK21). For months I had been considering whether to get a new set of CMC6 or to get a used set and sell the capsules off - than this pair of CMC6 appeared on eBay and I snapped them up as soon as I could. Next up, the digital version?
