    The Beatles - Please Please Me (Mono) Vinyl LP 2014
    Aug 26, 2018
    Excellent pressing, GREAT replica of the original jacket & artwork of the original MONO LPs; where is the high-quality STEREO reissue series?!?
    Buying the 2014 Mono Remasters of The Beatles LPs as originally issued in the U.K. is the next best thing to jumping into a time machine and going back to the 1960s to purchase original 1st pressings of these mono LPs. Unlike the 2012 stereo reissue Beatles LPs which were cut from digital tapes, the mono reissue LPs from 2014 were cut from original analogue masters.. using the original 1960s mastering and EQ notes as a guide to meticulously recreate the original 1960s mono mastering. EMI / Universal took great care with these mono Beatles LPs; I am a longtime Beatles collector and can say that the sound is indeed very close to the 1960s U.K. pressings... for a fraction of the cost of early NM originals. The pressing of the LPs themselves, done by Optimal Germany, is quite good and the cherry on top is the LP sleeve that replicates the original 1960s issues, down to the "flip back" style 1960s covers. This is very cool for collectors and casual Beatles fans alike. The mono mixes are substantially different to the stereo mixes; I'm not going to weigh in on which mix is "better" or more preferable (OK... I will; I prefer the Stereo mixes) but I can say that the mono LPs have a very cool "1960s period sound" and special vibe to them that is in itself something of a time trip. Any serious Beatles fan NEEDS the mono mix LPs in their collection; many listeners will strongly favor the mono mix over the stereo, but put simply.. having BOTH mixes is the real treat for Beatles fans... There is no need to proclaim that either the mono or stereo is the "one true mix"; both are enjoyable and valid expressions of what are, of course, the same magical and timeless recordings. Please Please Me in particular sounds very striking and "immediate" in mono; the vocals are clean and punchy and the sound stage is uncluttered and has great focus.
    NEIL YOUNG Roxy (Tonight's the Night Live) - Etched Record Store Day Edition
    Apr 16, 2019
    Great sound, excellent performances, captures Neil Young at his absoulute peak
    This is an essential LP for any true fan of "old shakey"... and is also a terrific companion to the studio "Tonight's The Night" LP. Neil Young fans will know that the studio "Tonight's The Night" LP is likely the most genuine, real, and committed / authentic studio LP ever released and is the best of the Neil Young "ditch trilogy" LPs; the "Live At The Roxy" LP is just as raw, real, and legit as the studio version. The sound is great, the vinyl LP mastering and pressing are terrific, and the performances are peerless. Neil Young fans NEED "Roxy--Tonight's The Night Live" in their LP collection!

    Mullard ECC83 12AX7 mC1 long plates 17mm England tested Great 50´s +++

    The MC 1 long plate Mullard 12AX7 is the reference 12AX7 for hifi; look no further!
    The MC1 (square getter) Mullard long plate 12AX7 tube gets everything right. No other 12AX7 comes close in terms of inner detail and natural overall musical presentation of great recordings.. particularly in the all-important upper midrange. More importantly, the MC 1 long plate Mullard 12AX7 lends a sense of space and a depth of soundstage to well-recorded music, particularly when used in tube phono preamps. MC 1 Mullards make music!
