A view of crime in the age of Elizabeth 1st.
A well written account of the turbulent times of Elizabeth 1st. You get some idea of what it was like to live when the queen's life was at stake, and the outcome of strife with Spain and France was uncertain. We know the outcome; they were living with uncertainty. The main character lives a charmed life, and has uncanny skills in solving murder: but is believable!
