this type of dead bolt uses a key on both sides of the door
1 of 1 found this helpful a normal dead bolt only uses a key on one side and has a flip handle on the other side of the door.
If you leave a key in this lock on the inside of the door you can use it just the flip handle.
If you leave home and take the key out of the lock on the inside, nobody can use that door as an exit
(from the inside to the outside) after you have left the house.
With the Kwikset smartkey feature of this deadbolt set and regular doorknobs with the smartkey feature
allows you to have one key to open everything and if you loose your key the locks can be re-keyed
in a couple minutes each by you.
