Comprehensive Guide for Japanese Joinery
This is a great book for anyone interested in Japanese methods of joining wooden beams in domestic architecture.
It would probably be of interest to those who appreciate timber frame joinery in the US.

Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott have done it again! It's a great set!
I love the character of Robin Hood and I think Russell Crowe interpreted this iconic figure magnifiscently. Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott are an indomitable pair in this epic film. I bought this 2-disc set because I'd seen the movie as released in the US. I wanted to have the unrated film in it's entirety. The set includes all the extras, including extensive interviews with Crowe and the other major characters; there are also quite a number scenes that tell parts of the story but sadly, had to be cut from the final film.
I also want to mention Kate Blanchett. She played the role of Lady Marian so well! The strength of her performance makes a great complement to Crowe. It's hard to imagine anyone else in the role.
Many people think "The Gladiator"is Scott/Crowe's finest epic film. I disagree. I think this historical epic will stand the test of time. It's hard to imagine another Robin Hood film coming along that could best this film. I've seen them all and this one shines like a bright star; it's a film that I'll enjoy for many years to come.

Why hasn't there been a 2nd Edition?
I meant to buy this book when I saw it in the stores, but there were other priorities. Some time went by and when I saw it offered as a used book, I could not believe the prices...which of course indicated that the demand outstrips the supply.
This book has some very cool ideas for outbuildings! It goes well beyond the standard plans one sees in most shed design books. If chosen to blend in with one's overall property style, they can beautifully enhance the character of a landscape. I feel fortunate to have found a used copy at about shelf price of the book when new.
