This hog is a great value
Used the hog to knock out some holes in a barrel for my new smoker (UDS).
Worked like a dream. This is a GREAT value compared to what I would be paying at my local big box store.

Great for home use
PROS:Inexpensive, electronic screen is a great advancement over the years I spent reading old fashioned vernier scale, inexpensive, the light on the screen works well, inexpensive, controls are well designed.
CONS: slide is ill fitting and wobbly. You could never use this gauge in a commercial machine shop. OK for home use. Finish is just fair.

pay attention to the details for a great result
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a high quality item. I would suggest carefully making an exact determination where the filter will be installed. I replaced the fuel tank and modified the fuel pickup probe inside the tank in order to remove the in-probe filter. My tank had rusted and the filter was clogged.
The threads on this external filter base are NOT compatible with the fittings you can buy at the local big box store. So PAY ATTENTION to the eventual location. I ended up having a custom intake and discharge manifold fabricated at a local hose and tube shop for $56. That allowed me to use the existing fuel line fittings and fuel pump intake fitting (modern snap on type) to hook up to the filter. I probably should have installed a vacuum gauge behind the fuel pump but I just wanted to get the external filter installed and get back on the road with my 7.3 liter truck. I cannot see any loss or gain of power with this filter. Remember to make tight connections because air leakage will cause power loss.
I was going to give it 4 stars because it doesn't use NPT fittings. However, the O-ring fittings it does use are actually superior to common pipe fittings. Best for aluminum.
