UNIDEN R3
1 of 1 found this helpful My second R3. It is very good at what it does best. I don’t actually need more features than this has. At one time, I would have jumped on the venerable R7. I still might at some point. I use the factory settings. I love the mute being on the plug and on the unit. I use a mirror mount and can easily access the unit release button as well as feel for others such as volume, menu, power, brightness etc without looking once familiar.
I have had and have a V1. Also great but the R3 seems more up to date and better range/response. Having said that, I have Gen 1 V1. The Latest offerings from either would be a difficult choice. If the UNIDEN had directional arrows ( rear antenna), that would be the ultimate detector. I may do a side by side test of each for fun..
I actually do not knowingly exceed speed limits. This unit keeps me honest and aware. I like knowing what’s going on around me. I don’t like surprises, and hoping I was not exceeding the limit on my way down a hill.
Also in many states, you must pull over ahead of a traffic stop or emergency. Having ample warning is less stressful.
Having the great range of this R3, enables one to detect momentary alerts which could indicate “Instant On” radar hits on a vehicle ahead.
I like this unit very much. I would recommend it and purchase it again.

SKB HARDSHELL GUITAR CASE
Just the best built protection for a fine guitar. The price I paid was very fair for this quality. I really like the “trigger” style latches. They are quick and secure. The shell material seem as if it would absorb small shocks better than high end wood cases. They depend on the inside cushioning.
The SKB inside cushioning is likewise excellent. The final recommendation is the fact that I am ordering another one of these for a different guitar.

Good item. Maybe adaptable for other items.
No fault of theirs that I only gave a 4. It is. A good quality item. It apparently is intended for a specific item. It comes close to what I have adapted it to fit. But to its shortcomings, I would have liked some adjustability.
I am pleased with the belt hook. Other similar products merely have a strap and snap for attachment. Cudos for a sturdy clip. If there was even a minor adjustment to make the holster tighter or looser, it would be a 5. The open bottom is a liability if what is in it fits loosely. If item is tight, bottom then is fine. But extraction would be a tight grip. Again it may function perfectly for its stated use. I don’t know. Even for intended item, it might get looser over time and would benefit y means of an adjustment feature.
