one of the most legendary horror classics of all time
an excellent remaster of one of my favorite movies. it looks great on blu-ray. and of course all the bonus extras are great as well.

a small dose of pure B.H. Surfers insanity from 1989
Butthole Surfers are a band that you either love 'em or hate 'em. there is NO middle ground to speak of. describing their music is difficult, but the best I can come up with is - psycho circus punk on a bad acid trip. this 1989 e.p. was their last release on the indie Touch & Go label before they would sign to Capitol records. Widowermaker is a 4 song record of classic butthole mayhem. its really no different than their previous album, Hairway To Steven. chances are if you liked that one, you'll like Widowermaker.

an Earache classic from 1988
this CD marks the only full-length Napalm Death album by their 1988 transitional line-up of Bill Steer on guitar, Lee Dorian on vocals, Mick Harris on drums, and only remaining member Shane Embury on bass (the first half of their debut album Scum was recorded with a different line-up, and the 2nd half of Scum was this line-up except Jim Whitely was on bass). if you're only a fan of the modern day version of the band, you may be surprised at the music contained here. to younger fans of extreme metal, most albums that came out on Earache records back in the late 80's are somewhat of an aquired taste. this album is a staple of the early days of old-school British grindcore. the song tempos contain mostly blast beats, the riffs are lightning speed, the vocals are gutteral growls that are completely indecipherable, and most of the songs are over before you realize what hit you. the production on Enslavement To Obliteration is much more raw and primative than the sound quality of the more polished N.D. albums made during the 90's. to more seasoned Napalm Death listeners, their earlier albums had more to do with the extreme strains of hardcore anarcho-punk than anything else. the darker death metal influences didn't begin to creep into their sound until their 1990 studio album Harmony Corruption, which would feature a completely re-vamped line-up including new singer Barney and 2 new guitarists, Mitch and Jessie.
