Happy dog momma!
2 of 2 found this helpful We have had this for over a year. The collars are a lifesaver. 1 blind/deaf and 1 strong willed dog. The ‘buzz’ feature was wonderful for the blind/deaf dog to help him stay with us and the ‘beep’ was nice to help us find him in the house but not bother him.
After the initial few weeks of training we rarely use the ‘zap’ mode on the strong willed dog. It goes to 100 (!!!) but 7 usually works on my 60+# barrel chested strong willed girl. I accidentally pushed the button up to 13 when a friend let her out and I went running out the door frantically grabbing the remote as I unfortunately and unwittingly “worry squeezed” the remote sides (intensity power buttons located there). The poor girl yelped and came running right back home with the collar correction. Normally I have to enlist the whole family to track her down then corner her. I am unbelievably happy to be able to take her for a walk or get peace in the house when she sees a squirrel outside. The ‘buzz’ is usually just enough to get her attention when she’s focused and tunes me out.
Only complaint is the collars will shut themselves off. A friend of mine has an expensive Garmin and it does the same thing although not as often. Unknown to the world of collars like these I figured we would go on the less expensive side and change to a little better one later if needed.
Concerned about the spontaneous self shut off, we worked on training the dogs inside only for several weeks. When we got brave enough to venture outside with the collared dogs we still used a leash. They responded WONDERFULLY!
- PLEASE READ! If you are purchasing an electronic collar for your pet, start as LOW as the shock part will go and work your way up till you get a response from your pet. Please don’t start where you THINK they need to be. When originally looking for an electronic collar there were angry pet parent pictures of dogs with burn marks on their necks. This is a pet parent issue not an animal issue. START AS LOW AS THE SYSTEM WILL GO. Your pets will be exceptionally grateful!

Best for price!
I have purchased several training collars and these are the best. They are inexpensive and do the job every time. The first set I had lasted 3 years before I was shaky on trusting it wouldn’t run out of battery on me on our walk. That said, 3 years to ask of a rechargeable battery is quite exceptional. I purchased the double collars and switch between dogs. When the 2nd dog died we rotated collars out on the 1st dog. I would advise purchasing 2 receivers even if you have 1 dog. HUGE money saver and there’s no “I forgot to charge the battery” moments! When new, the dog receivers last for a week before recharging. As they age they lose oomph and we were getting a day out of each charge. We carry the 2nd collar in the bag with us as the back up.

The beep is there as the 1st choice to get dogs attention. Vibrate (‘Jiggle’ as we call it) is second and we have that on the 99 setting always. Doesn’t hurt the dog in any way and it gets maximum attention vibration. THE VERY LAST RESORT should be shock. Upon using shock.....you start on 1 and go UP till you get the response you want from your pet. PLEASE PLEASE do NOT start Willy nilly, or worse, high and go lower. It is a training/teaching device for you and your pet, not a punishment system. My dog started responding at 7. (out of the 1-100 intensity this system allows). We did ok there until she saw another dog. Next response was at 13 . We have hit as high as 27 but VERY infrequent.
This is the best trading collar for the money! It has it’s small issues but I will happily repurchase every 3 years if needed for the battery.
