- o***a (317)- Feedback left by buyer.Past yearVerified purchaseI ordered this tank thinking it would reach me in time before traveling. It hasn’t reached me yet! Instead I got a notification that the seller hadn’t paid the proper postage fees, so I had to pay 7£ on top! I asked the seller to reimburse me for the additional postage, he refused! It’s only 7£, by far the worst is that this tank will not reach me in time and it is urgently needed in Kenya. Once I’m back I’ll have to sell it on eBay as I had to fork up 67£ for another one. Mr Cheapskate! 🥵🤬Reply from: styve100- Feedback replied by seller styve100.- Feedback replied by seller styve100.I underestimated for posting this, but paid the extra, I lost out on the price i paid at the counter. Royal Mail weighed and charged me for the service I selected. Then this buyer says he had to pay £7 and demanded the extra as he was flying to Kenya, yes, its 'only' £7. His choice to buy another tank. I think my general feedback reflects the service I offer over many years

You very much get what you pay for.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have been adapting my kit over the last 8 years or so.
I have digital and film EOS cameras.
Originally I had a collection of standard EF lens's some of these, or most to be honest a bit slow in that the aperture are smaller and variable.
I have to say in general, I was disappointed with results especially if I needed to crop, but generally accepted that, thats just how it is, its the best the lens could do, not fantastically sharp, not the best shutter speed.
Maybe in a lot of cases I could have taken more care and maybe a tripod would have been better in some cases.
I have been lucky enough over the last couple of years to have replaced all those lenses and have got some good primes and a set of L lenses. The difference is unreal, obviously IS helps but the pictures are sharp when zooming in 100% or more, the detail is what I am truly expecting, so now I can concentrate on my photography, knowing I have got the kit that will deliver results and I wont be held back.
This lens falls into that catagory and if you are thinking of buyign this lens, dont hesitate

Under the heading of all rounder
1 of 1 found this helpful I call it an all rounder as, I believe a lens which can do all this can should be, although it is a prime.
It will focus down to 30cm and has three modes to focus at various lengths, this is to speed up focus.
It is also a great lens to have to give fairly tight portraits and semi tele shots, and lastly the tripod mount which effectively sends the centre of gravity backward to help balance the camera on tripods which maybe not as sturdy as some expensive ones so therefore would try to stop any wobble.
It is beautifully made, feels great and has a macro scale in the focus scale so at its closest it is 1:1.
Being an L lens it has weather sealing, Also there is no movement when focusing from the front element.
Handling is great, you can remove the tripod mount for handheld shots and it balances well with a full frame camera, obviously used with a crop frame would give an effective 160mm lens.
You need to stop down more with a macro and using it as such, because at close focus a wide open aperture would give millimetres of depth of field at most.
