Motor carbon brushes - May damage your washing machine motor.
1 of 1 found this helpful These brushes are not compatible. When inserted into my machine (Logixx8 WAS32741AU), they caused the motor to seriously overheat. The armature got so hot it stank of burning plastic. The new brushes sparked brightly. You cannot 'wear these in' - the motor runs too hot (even on low load) and sparking damages the commutator.
With original brushes the motor ran cool again.
I tried machining the new brush end to the correct shape (matching the curve of the commutator), and using the old (original) springs on the new brushes. These made little difference.
The problem is these are made of the incorrect the carbon material, with much too low resistance.
So beware!!! I just hope the long term damage to my armature windings wont result in the motor failing permanently soon. Not happy.
