Oem vs. Kevlar
As it goes my local dealer had given me a long story about the importance of staying with original equipment parts. The belts were expensive and were not lasting as long as I thought they should. I decided to try a different brand of belt and it lasted comparable to the OEM belts. Then I saw the option for KEVLAR. The Kevlar belt has outlasted the others by three times and still looks great. From someone that mows a lot of grass, I recommend going with Kevlar.

built sturdy
My grandparents had a similar shredder and a 20 gallon crock they would make sauerkraut in. I ended up with the crock and not the shredder. I can not imagine doing this much cabbage without this shredder. It looked like new after I was done with 25 heads. I plan on making a block that fits inside the sliding box that has ears that stop it just off the blades. It might keep the sauerkraut from getting a reddish hue.
