Great!
Great cable. Had to replace my old one, which had broken. This cable does that, no problem. And it is much tougher than the original cable I had. Very nice.

Astro A50 with base station
The product came in aggressive, bulky, quality packaging. That tells you what you're getting in these headphones. They're large, but not heavy. They stand out, but they're not overbearing. These would be as comfortable for extended, hot and sweaty gaming sessions, as they would be for listening to a few songs on your laptop.
The styling is aggressive, which is what you'd expect from a gaming headset. The materials, however, look and feel very nice compared to even past generation A50s. The soft touch plastic feels a great deal more premium than the standard hard plastic from previous generations.
And that's what you're getting in this headset, as far as construction. The shiny, height adjustable arms look like metal, but after a quick moment of awe I was almost hurt to find they are also plastic. In fact, much of the body is plastic. In this case, however, that's not such a bad thing.
The plastic construction allows for a lighter product, which lends to greater comfort during longer periods of use. What's more, even though the design is mostly plastic, they never feel cheap or flimsy. Along with that, the design is very user friendly and efficient. Chat and game volume balance can be adjusted on the fly by touching your right ear cup. The arms on either side of the headset can be easily adjusted up and down to your liking, giving a tighter or looser fit without a hassle. The new feature of truly being wireless means that now you can be free of your controller while still enjoying content.
And don't get me started on the magnetic ear cups.
"But even with such a fantastic design, this headset still uses a lot of plastic to cost around $300." I hear you. Now shut up and listen to these headsets. These large drivers are capable of providing crisp highs, smooth mids and thumping lows. The three presets that come loaded into the headset are useable, and they do some things really well, but you can also create a preset on your PC and load that instead, for a sound that's just right for you.
Overall, this headset is an absolute improvement over previous generations. It earns it's high price tag with form and function.
