A fast enjoyable book.
1 of 1 found this helpful I found it very interesting and well researched. Many of the references are books I have read or seen elsewhere. It may not be the best coffee table book due to some of the photos of injured soldiers. It demonstrates the value of good sanitary conditions in the field of battle as well as in a hospital setting.

This book is a classic of psychiatric history and the creation of reforms in the nature of treatment.
A very interesting personal account of a mans illness and care at the turn of the century.

A very well written and reaseached book.
