Why make your own?
My blast gates arrived this morning, after a little debate with myself whether to make my own or buy them, seeing the quality of these all plastic versions, why make your own? The blast gates are compact with a smooth operation to open and close them, I bought the size to suit standard 68mm downpipe and the tube that extends from each side of the blast gate slides easily into the 68mm downpipe, ideally these tubes could do with being slightly tapered so they made a tight fit into the downpipe, but a layer of tape around them should make them snug and I had planned to wrap duct tape around all joints as, for whatever reason in the UK, downpipe fittings like elbows and tee joints are quite loose unlike the 40mm waste pipe system, again, I'm using the downpipe for the purpose of dust removal not rain water.
I recommend these Axminster blast gates to anyone thinking of installing a workshop dust extraction system, they come in a couple of sizes, again I am using the 63mm size to use with 68mm downpipe, so don't need around making your own, buy these and spend your time being creative in your workshop.

Quality wheels
1 of 1 found this helpful The quality of these trolley wheels is quite remarkable, the tyres are solid grey rubber, which do not leave marks on the floor. Each wheel is mounted on a swivel bearing so it can travel in any direction and all the metal components are heavy gauge zinc plated steel, so they will not rust away and between them can carry a massive 200 kilo's. Two of the casters have foot locks and this allows the item they are mounted on to be locked in place, and screws are even included in the box.
I bought these for workshop use to mount on a trolley carrying a band saw, so it can be moved around and out of the way when not in use. I bought my first set of these to mount under my bench saw and table router for the same reason. They are small enough to fix to heavy furniture to move it about, ideal for indoor and outdoor trolleys for moving big plant pots around, they have many applications and are very versatile.
I cannot recommend these inexpensive trolley wheels enough, both for their quality and versitility, I doubt they can be bettered on both and on price.

Fair quality
This set of rigger brushes is ideal for the beginner or a little more advanced woodbe artist. The quality is fair for the price and they come nicely packaged with tubes over the brush head to preserve the shape. Overall they perform really well with water colour paints, have not tried them with acrylics but suspect they will be quite useable. These are an ideal set to add to the must have brushes and don't cost the earth.
