Space, the final frontier
Fantastic product, so much better than the pictures appear. Real sound clips from the show. Only downside is no on/off button

The 75 is a VERY good vintage
The 1975 revision of "The Joy of Cooking" is the version most of us late baby boomers grew up with. Frankly, I had no idea there were different "versions" of the same book. I, like many others, assumed that they just added a few things here or there, tweaked a couple of recipes, and that was it. Boy were we wrong! After many years living at home and then many years in a marriage, I found myself single and in need of a cookbook. Well, I went out and bought the first book that came to mind-The Joy of Cooking. I discovered that I had the dreaded 1997 edition. I didn't know there was trouble in the kitchen till Christmas came and I wanted to make "worms," or Almond Crescents as they were known. I scoured the tome under "cookies" and "almonds" and "Christmas" (I think I even looked under "worms"). They weren't in there. How could these 1997 buffoons remove one of my treasured childhood memories? Well, after a bit of research, I discovered that we must have had the 1963 or 1975 edition and frankly the book I grew up with didn't look all that worn so I figured it must have been the '75. I looked in used book shops but apparently no one gives up their '75 so eBay was my logical next choice. Found 10 or 12 copies in about 2 minutes and bid on a few of them. Ironically I ended up with two so I sold the '97 and promptly won third place in a cooking contest for "Dem Bones" - almond crescents reshaped as bones to go along with my Halloween Headhunter costume. Thanks 75 -love ya, mean it! Stompy
