In some cases older is better

I wanted an IDE optical drive to free up a SATA connector. A SATA socket is better utilized by a SSD or HDD than an occasional use optical drive. This was an older DVD-RW RAM drive, I cleaned the laser lens and it works as well as it ever did.

Ueed was fine for my needs.

The only problem with SSDs is not knowing how old a used SSD is and if it was set to automatic defrag. SSDs are damaged by being defragged.
