Compact by name and by nature
I had been looking for a good EDC multitool and had checked reviews concerning this Victorinox model. Although it is a little pricier than similar SAK models with more tools (I have no idea why), it is still great value. A simple array of tools that meet most daily needs, and made with excellent Victorinox quality and precision. It only lacks a dedicated phillips and pliers, but as I also carry a Leatherman Sidekick, I have pretty much all the bases covered.
I'm very happy with this knife/multitool and easily recommend it to anyone that feels the tools provided will suit their needs.

Now doesn't this feel nice in your hand.
I have reviewed the M21-02G that was bought by mistake when I was after this 04G, so though I should do this one as well.
The 02G is the smaller version (which I found out AFTER I paid for it), similar in size to the M16 series. The 04G is the bigger version, about a 4 inch blade compared to the 02G's 3 inch. The build is nice and beefy, but manages not to weigh a ton, thanks to the G10 scales.
It is probably a bit big for ordinary EDC use, and I intend to use it more for outdoors/bush/camping activities as I think the bigger blade will be more useful in these scenarios.
It has a smooth acting flipper, but the blade deploys a little slower than the 02G version (or the M16), most likely due to it's size. Still gives a nice satisfying 'clunk' when it locks in though. The pocket clip is VERY strong, making it a bit difficult to easily attach to pocket, belt or waistband, but on the plus side it simply will not get lost once it is clipped in place.
Overall I am happy with this knife and think it should work well in the field.
