Getting to the source!

Very informative book. Excellent source for the particular styles & instruments that make Hawaiian music. Also great source for the early history of Hawaiian music and the various influences that contributed to the development of early, native and contemporary (up to time of printing of book) Hawaiian music. Good read as well as excellent reference material.

Old is not new

Cd played fine for about first 8 songs and then ejected from CD player…will not play at all now. Noticeable deterioration of cd…it is from ‘80s…other cds (& there are many) play without incident in player. Of thousands and thousands (& that is no Biden-like hyperbole…I really mean it!!!) this is first cd I can recall just deteriorating from old age…just like Joe! I can’t resist. Thankfully the cd didn’t ruin my player like Biden has destroyed the United States!
