Generac XG8000E Natural Gas / Propane Conversion Kit [SEK-04E-1]

Some hints and insight

No need to cut the frame on the Generac XG8000E for this kit to fit. It moves the air cleaner box out about 1-1/4". There are a couple of downfalls to this. The choke cable will no longer fit into the bracket and be able to be clamped down unless you make your own bracket and extend it back the 1-1/4" it was moved out. You will also have to cut some of the air cleaner box out for the choke to clear. Save some of the hose that come with the kit so you can extend the crankcase breather tube. Just cut the original breather tube about an inch back from where it attaches to the air cleaner box and insert a some of the hose that came with the kit. Then cut it and fit it into the other end of the breather tube towards the valve cover. I plumbed mine into the house gas supply line. Be sure to run at least a 3/4" line to your kit. The 90deg fuel adjustment elbow is a nice touch. This gives you the capability to adjust the fuel to the carb. Let the unit warm up and put it under a full load and then adjust it in until the engine smooth's out. The regulator has a relief button on the back side which works well for purging the air out of the line. I used a different hose clamp as these will cut into the hose over time, especially with vibrations.
