Required repairs right out of the box
0 of 1 found this helpful I have to say that among the model railroading community Lionel S scale has a poor reputation for quality control, but I didn't think that would have been an issue with a simple piece of track. However it was. Upon hooking the uncoupler section into my layout the device refused to activate. Placing a lighted caboose on the track section confirmed it was getting power, but it did not activate when the control button was pushed. Removing the bottom of the device I soon determined that track power was not being routed to the control circuit because one of the feeder contacts was not in contact with the rail. A simple fix, but something that should have been tested before the part left the Chinese factory.
