Good buy for a skilled tinker
Had to reuse one of the plastic grommets from the old stuff to make it go together. It was a real pain to get it back together but it was worth it to rebuild it because once you get it apart you can see the quality of the old Japanese starter is better than anything you could get new nowadays. It was like new inside except for the brushes. Worked well fires right up. Highly recommended.

Tinkering required for a 1988 warrior

I had to heat up the slip on flange & flare it to get it over the gasket & the supplied clamp is mediocre at best & had to modify that to get it to tighten up . But it sounds pretty tough. It loud but not loud & stupid . I would reccomend if you dont mind a little tinkering.
