Upgraded from a Sony Alpha A300, and all I can say is wow - huge improvement in almost every way! My only complaint is the EVF, which gets quite noisy in low light conditions. On the other hand, it means fewer moving parts to possibly break down, quieter operation, and full 1080p video, so I suppose it balances out.
Sensor noise is acceptable even at 1600 ISO (have not tried going above that), and virtually undetectable between 100-400. 800 seems to be the sweet spot for long exposure night scenes. I've frankly not seen any other camera at any price point with such manageable noise levels.
In my opinion, Sony cameras are way underrated - lots of people seem to turn their nose up at them, in favor of Canon, Nikon, et al, but the bang-for-buck factor of the Alpha series is unmatched, in my book. They've been reliable for me, feel comfortable and solid in the hands, and image quality is always on par or better than the competition. Plus, the feature list is extensive for a sub-$400 camera. And, no, I am not being paid to say these things!!!
If you want an excellent entry-level camera (or heck, I'd think this would even be a great addition for the seasoned pro's arsenal, as well), this camera definitely pushes all the right buttons! Bravo, Sony!

Excellent discrete style; audio quality & noise canceling could be better.
Nice little headset that wont make you look like "one of those self-important arseholes"; love the discrete and elegant style. Audio quality leaves a bit to be desired, but it's not really for hi-fi listening - works great on the phone. Noise canceling isn't the best, but in my opinion, if it's too loud for the noise canceling to work, you're probably somewhere that it is rude/obnoxious to be on the phone in the first place ;)
Yamaha TRBX174EW Bass Guitar (Root Beer)

Great no matter your level
I've never played a Yamaha bass prior to purchasing this one that I can remember...What a great first impression and entry into the brand! It looks great, sounds great and feels like it should cost a lot more than it does.
I own way more expensive basses that I don't like as much.
