The Reformation in England in two volumes
These two volumes cover the Reformation in England only. Very comprehensive history written by a convinced Protestant Christian. Generally reckoned to be accepted by most evangelicals, but not for Catholics though!

Sound advice for Christian Living
Selwyn Hughes covers 40 of the most difficult situations a person trying to lead a Christian life is likely to meet. Each topic has two pages, the right hand one has his study and advice with a short prayer and the left hand page has several relevant texts of Scripture. Good to have by you, particularly when life gets tough.

Buddhism for the West
Jack Kornfield is the best Buddhist meditation teacher I’ve heard in the West. I had a DVD of a retreat he held years ago and thought how genuine (and humorous at times) he was. We’re spared much of the weird Eastern stuff with its deities and endless lists etc. His voice is very soothing - ideal after a stressful day! Yes you can get a lot out of his approach to Buddhist principles.
