Great gifts

Heartbreaking
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a story of the relentless need of a father to make his special needs daughter conform into the likes of his other children.
Joseph and Rose Kennedy did try very hard and were certainly wealthy enough to provide all means of education for their daughter, Rosemary. However, in desperation, he would make a final decision that would forever alter the life of his beautiful, loving daughter. Not only was her life altered but there was forever a hole left in the family of a missing child and sister. Rosemary had such a capacity for love and she dearly loved her family. Heartbreaking is the fact she was taken from her family; isolated away from them. She no longer had the loving relationship of her mother and father, brothers and sisters. If, in her mind she was able to remember her family, I can only imagine the sadness she lived with daily.
This book was the best and the arthur wrote in such a way that the life of Rosemary just called out to me on every page.
