Initial impressions are excellent
I've only used the iron on one project, but I did experiment with a couple of the temperature settings to find the one that worked best for that application. I had a good idea what it would be and I was right, but I was working on a circuit board and didn't want to use any more heat than necessary. It was nice to be able to dial that in. The FX600 made the job a snap.

Excellent So Far
1997 Mazda Miata... Replaced a nearly new set of Uniroyal Tiger Paws that were harsh and noisy with these. Very happy with these tires so far... Much, much quieter and smoother rolling. And grip has been improved dramatically (of course went from a T-rated tire to these V-rated Kumhos). Two caveats: (1)The Miata is very small and light and doesn't get driven very much so can't speak to wear characteristic. (2)And, b/c my speedo was nearly 4 mph off, I replaced the stock rims with Enkei racing rims as well, so ended up going about 2 sizes bigger with the Solus tires (1 rim size + 1 tire size: 185/60R14 to 195/60R15). This new wheel/tire combo is great, but the larger tires have probably also contributed to the overall increase in performance...

Unnecessary
1 of 1 found this helpful When I removed the old oil pan (the drain hole was stripped) I noticed it had no gasket, only gasket-making product. I used the gasket anyway. It fit fine and stayed in place well using the supplied gasket adhesive, but it started to leak after the engine had run for a few minutes. The gasket, which I probably over-tightened, had blown out in a couple of spots. The second time around I used Permatex Ultra Black only, following their directions and it sealed up perfectly.
