Wilson Combat - 1911 Cocobolo Starburst Flat Bottom Grips - Full-Size - 351CSBF

The grips were excellent quality but as can happen with natural wood, the color was not as shown. They were much brighter and much redder than desired. I removed the medallions, stripped the clear coating with citrus furniture stripper, and soaked them in black stain overnight. After rubbing the stain off and letting them dry for a day, I reinstalled the medallions and added several coats of paste wax. Now they look pretty much like the picture and give a very comfortable but secure grip.
