SRAM Red, make for smooth pedaling.
Lightweight, yet durable. SRAM parts seem the most precise of the major manufacturers/suppliers. Not much happening with a chain ring, but it's smooth pedaling and shifting when used in combination with a Wippermann Connex 10s1 chain and SRAM Power Glide PG1070 cassette.

Short term expensive, long term cheap.
79,537 miles out of my first SRAM Red derailleur, why change? The throw is pretty far and cables corner pretty tight, requiring two-finger shifts to the big chain ring, but it's responsive enough. Handles rain, snow and road salt without worry. Seems to work better with the original grey chain rings than the newer power glide black chain rings. Sorry to see SRAM discontinue this sort of quality.
