Great but not the best battery life if using Wi-Fi
I am a bit biased on this product because i bought it with the intention of using it WITHOUT the C-Wire, i wanted to use the battery because i have an older HVAC setup with separate controls for each, both without a C-Wire. i looked and looked and found that the Geo Lux was a very highly rated thermostat compatible to use exclusively with batteries (Lithium 2-AA) and still be a Network controlled thermostat via the Lux App. The setup was a little wonky because i bough them used, i had to contact lux support and have them remove them from the previous owners account, did not take very long within 5-10 mins i could complete the setup. if you've ever setup a Ring camera or any ip-camera before it's a simple setup, the thermostat gives its own wifi, you connect to the wifi, you setup the thermostat on your own wifi, then it syncs to the app. very simple setup instructions outlined that if it doesn't work the first time, perform a reset, i had to do that 1x time for 1 of the thermostats, took literally 30 seconds.
as far as the functionality, it's all there, nice big display, turn knob works flawlessly however the network capability are a huge drain on the battery, 2-AA lithium batteries are lasting 5 days on the most "economical" setting the thermostat allows. mind you i setup a schedule so i would avoid any excess changes. this works great but like i stated batteries only lasting 5 days really kills it. i mitigated this by setting the schedule and then turning OFF the wifi radio, this has been for the better part of July and i haven't received a battery notification. Overall, i believe this thermostat would function 100% as expected had i a C-Wire, with that being said, that makes it no different than some of the newer thermostats on the market, ecobee, nest, etc which all indicate they require the C-Wire anyways. all in all, i probably will have an HVAC tech come out and evaluate my system and inquire about getting the new wire ran to accommodate the Lux Geo.

the phone works, it does what I need it to the battery life is a little short. it has limited capabilities and the software is rather old android 2.1.3
