Well equipped kit with an interesting design flaw
Nicely engineered metal and plastic parts and detailed picture assembly plan is provided.
Solar powering makes same a nice model of an air mover, but not, technically, a wind power
plant... reason? In real life a unit like this utilizes wind to operate a turbine connected to
a generator to PRODUCE electricity. Unfortunately, this model suggests solar power used
to PRODUCE wind power. Apparently, kit designer got the model concept "backwards".
Kit will still provide educational concept that solar energy can be harnessed to provide
motion. Kit received a 3 out of 5 rating because of the design flaw!

Interesting 50 year-later sibling to the infamous Erector Tower Crane of years back!
Chest is hardwood, compartmented, and has sliding lid. Parts arrange neatly inside and are of
quality resulting from all being made in same facility. Assembly is by a part number/ pictorial
for each assembly step. Product has missing parts assurance covered thru manufacturer.
Extra spare parts can be purchased. There is an Internet video showing finished largestof three models made by this set.
Fans of original ERECTOR will be interested in comparing product to the popular tower crane
of Erector days. A dandy set worth the price for its quality.

Neat kit for tweeking to make it even better!
Kit, with some personal tweeks, makes a nice ferris wheel model. Function is improved by
setting aside "solar" and powering item with 10 rpm gear motor plus parts from Eitech's C-132
gear set. Plan's call for carriages to be "centered by locknut method does not work when the
carriage's "axle" is actually a "screw". Builder needs to create a bolster that won't allow nuts
to tighten and impinge on "swing" of each carriage. By "scale sizing" a step-platform needs to
be added to raise patrons to "seating level". All parts are quality, except for provided motor, which, if used per Solar, drives wheel at unrealistic speed! When modified, result is a smooth,
realistic, quality, nicely-sized ferris wheel model.
