DR WHO, HORROR OF FANG ROCK
1 of 1 found this helpful Being a fan of the classic Dr Who series, I was delighted to see this gem from the Tom Baker era available on e-bay. We would all agree that the new series is technically better than the old, with the comfort of new/up dated effects, & a blend of mature, brilliant writing that shape it both digitally & creatively. This however somehow takes away the simplicity of the classic series, the fondness of the crass sticky-back plastic monsters that we all remember with affection. This is one of those monsters unfortunately, but that takes nothing away from a good story set in a lighthouse, which allows for a small cast to get to grips with the atmosphere of the story. This adventure also introduces the Rutons into the series, (the later being the enemy of the Sontarens). The small cast enables the viewer to familiarise themselves with the characters & watch with anticipation as they slowly get picked off one by one. The dvd has a few extras, such as commentry by Louise Jameson (Leela) and a nice feature on who merchandise, shame Tom doesnt feature though.

Look out for an acoustic version of The Eton Rifles & an early version of 'A solid bond in your heart' which became The Style Councils 4th single. Also a Beatles cover, Brilliant!
