Fast. Perfect in poor light. Worth every penny saved. Fabulous lens!
This is the ultimate starter lens to have. Yes, it does not zoom, YOU are the 'zoom' but for a prime lens that focuses FAST,and that works EXCELLENT in poor light(no icky flash) and creates the most buttery, creamy and dreamy images, I am BLOWN away by this lens. I had been on the fence about choosing this lens or the $100 1.8. That extra stop for low light and lightning fast shutter that the 1.4 makes all the difference in the world.(So save your money and buy this one instead of the 1.8) The extra $300 is SOOOOOO worth it. Your images will be tack sharp with smokin clarity and just simply drop dead gorgeous. For people or pet portraits this lens is a MUST have!!
