Once Snapped Don't Unsnap!
The hat is shipped with the brim unsnapped from the crown. I snapped the brim into place to try it on. I read a caution about being careful with the snaps so when I embellished the hat I carefully tried to unsnap it. The half of the snap on the brim side popped off. I had to use a screwdriver to dislodge it from the other half of the snap, super glue it back onto the brim and use a hammer to snap it back into place. If you purchase this hat, do not plan to unsnap the brim once it is snapped into place. Otherwise I was satisfied with the quality of the hat for my costume. The fit was fine for me, I am a woman with a size large head. The snaps were black but they are too noticeable to wear the hat in a shape other than tricorn, with one side down, for example.
