Good Kit, you need to know how to solder!
4 of 4 found this helpful I have had a bunch of different power banks in the past, and this is very similar to an old one that died on me. It's been improved a lot though. The LED Panel on the back is good for a work-light, much better than the old Single LED version. It it's place seems to be a 'black light' - near UltraViolet. Useful for showing up bad things in hotel rooms ;-)
The kit itself is easy to put together - there are no wires included, so some wire and soldering is required. The PCB is easy to see where to wire too.
There is space inside for up to 5 18650 cells, if you can wire them all in parallel - this would be easy if you had some with solder tags (e.g. salvaged from a dead laptop for example). Alternatively you could put some flat slab LiPo cells in there.(Inside space is 69mm wide x 92mm long x 19mm thick)
The solar panel is, like all these small power banks, relatively useless because it would take days and days in full sun to charge the bank (if you fitted decent capacity cells), however, if you can leave it in the sun, then it's a free top up!
The single button control is improved over older models, having 3 functions: Single press to turn on or off the USB ports or to check remaining capacity; Long press turns on or off the single UV-LED, and a double-click turns on the big LED panel.
All in all, pretty good and a good upgrade on the earlier models.

Great little batteries
LR54 are about half the thickness of LR44 batteries. Commonly used in watches and in my case, a Thermometer module.
Usual Duracell quality, easy to pop out of the back of the card.
Good performance.

Works great - 90MB/s
I got 90MB/s (MegaBytes) to a Sandisk Extreme Pro SDHC card (Class 10 UDMA3) The card is labelled 95MB/s so that's pretty good..coming from a laptop! It's nice and small and does SD as well as MicroSD (TF). Great to carry around with my laptop to get photos off the cards fast.
