One of Nikon's 10 best lenses: Nikon 50mm F/1.8D AF
Would you like to own one of Nikon's best lenses for about $100? You can! See: http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/10-best.htm Which cameras will this lens work with? It will work with any digital Nikon with a focus motor built into the camera, including full frame sensor size cameras. This includes the D1, D2, D3 series, the D100, D200, D300, D700 series, and the D50, D70, D80, and D90 series. It will not autofocus with cameras that do not have a built in focus motor such as the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, and D5000, but it will work in manual focus mode. More here: http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/compatibility-lens.htm What are the best applications for this lens? 1) Scenery: This lens has extremely high resolution and very low distortion; it is very sharp and will give you all the details and contrast that you could ask for. If you are photographing buildings, you will never see any pincushion or barrel distortions. Straight lines in the real world will always be perfectly straight in your images. 2) Sunsets: This lens is fast and can capture dim late sunset phenomena. The D version of this lens has more modern and effective anti-reflective coatings than the two older non-D versions, and will perform better than the non-D versions when the sun is in the picture. 3) Low light photography: Do you want to take photos where the light is dim and flash photography is not allowed, such as museums, cathedrals, and other architectural masterpieces? This lens is fast! http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/great-high-iso-performance.htm 4) Portraits: Open the lens up to F/2.8 or even all the way to F/1.8 and focus on the your subject's irises. Their eyelashes and eyebrows will still be in focus but most of their face will be subtly out of focus, thereby hiding pores, fine wrinkles, and many of the blemishes of age. This principle is used in Nikon's famed (and very expensive) 135mm F/2 DC portrait lens. This 50mm F/1.8 $100 lens does not give you the fine control of the bokeh (out of focus texture) that is available with the $1,300 lens, but it is a great deal for the money. Caution: If you use this lens for portraits, do NOT shoot from so close that your subject's head fills the frame! If you use a 50mm focal length lens and try to fill the frame with your subject's head, you will have the wrong perspective; your subject's nose will look too big and their ears will tend to appear too small and even vanish behind the curve of their face. Move back so that your subject's head covers 1/2 to 1/3 of the frame, and crop the photo. You will still have plenty of resolution for eyelash sharp 8"x10" prints. This is unnecessary with longer focal length lenses such as the Nikon 135mm F/2 DC. 5) Action: There is no substitute for a wide F opening for freezing action while retaining the low noise and color precision of a low ISO. VR lenses can enable hand held shots at long shutter speeds even at F/5.6, but they can't freeze action the way you can with a very wide F/1.8 and very short 1/4000 second exposure. If you want to catch your pet jumping into the air to catch a treat, this lens can really freeze the action. Zoom lenses are convenient, but top quality prime (fixed focal length) lenses like this one are faster and have a much greater freedom from distortion and color fringes - plus greater contrast, sharpness, and texture definition. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/5018daf.htm http://www.photodo.com/lens/Nikon-AF-50mm-f18D-19 Enjoy!

Honeywell Kaz HT-904 Tabletop Air-Circulator Fan, White 11 inch
Aug 27, 2018
Less noise, more air, three speeds, reliable, well designed and constructed.
Three speed. and unusually quiet for the amount of air that they move. We've had a couple of these fans for three years, which have been used all summer long in our high desert business, and they show no signs of wearing out. We just bought three more. Very well designed. We have found that Honeywell fans are significantly less noisy for the volume of air moved than most of their competitors.
