"World's Greatest bass Player"
I bought this book because I wanted to get a better perception of the truth behind the jaco "myth" and this book really helped me out. "Jaco" does a wonderful job of sheding light on the harsh reality of life on the road for Jaco. It takes you along with jaco and his closest comrads as he went from obscurity to world-wide fame and prestige, from straight-edged religious family man to manic alcohol and cocain abuser, and finally to immortal bass/jazz inovator and legend. "Jaco" will keep you up late nights with your eyes glued to it's pages all the while feeling an enormous buzz merely from reading about the epicly larger than life electrifyingly mysterious character that was John Francis Pastorius III, and is and will forever be "Jaco".
