Buying a refurbished Garmin GPS
The good: I liked the ease with which I was able to set up and use this GPS. It also acquired a signal very quickly... when it did work.
The Bad: After just two days usage, the GPS unit would no longer acquire a signal. I registered the product online (after the customer service folks "freed up" the serial number, as it was registered once already as a new unit). Within 24 hours of registering the unit, it would no longer work. I followed all the instructions for use and troubleshooting on the web site and in the user manual, and the GPS still would not work. I phoned Garmin, explained what I had tried (also updated all the software online) and the customer service representative gave me a return authorization number so I could send the unit back for repair or replacement.
I spend $8.25 more on the GPS to send it back, "Priority Mail" so I could insure and track the item. It's been about a week, and I don't have a GPS to use, and do not really expect to have it anytime soon. I do not necessarily "blame" Garmin, but you might think that they'd be a little more careful in allowing "refurbished" units out the door than this.
The Ugly: Looking back on it, I wish I had spent $20 more and bought a brand new unit, not that there would be any guarantee that I still wouldn't be waiting for my warranty to replace even a brand new GPS....

Dewalt 20v is the best deal you'll find
As a millwright, I use my tools 8 to 12 hours every day. I have replaced all my Porter-Cable 20v with Dewalt. The Dewalt hold a charge longer, are more powerful (torque being the biggest difference) and feel sturdier when being used. I'll keep the PC tools for home use, and use the Dewalt on the job.

Perfect portable cordless bandsaw
1 of 1 found this helpful The 20v Dewalt deep cut portable bandsaw was the perfect addition to my tool box. Since purchasing the portaband, I've used it many times in places where using a corded tool is impractical. You can make multiple cuts on a single charged battery, on material of the same size and composition that a corded tool can cut. I highly recommend the entire line of Dewalt 20v tools, if you make your living with tools. No regrets.
